The Japan's largest car-tuning and dress-up event "Tokyo Auto Salon 2010 with NAPAC"was held for three days from January 15 to January 17, 2010 at Makuhari Messe, Chiba. Of course this year too, the RECARO booth with its distinctive atmosphere appeared on the venue. Despite the economic depression, the booth area was even more increased this year! Under the theme of "RECARO SQUARE", it was designed in the image of a plaza which is often seen in the center of European cities and was so fitted for the RECARO brand born in Germany. Actually, as the RECARO booth was located approximately in the center of the middle hall in the venue, it created symbolic presence as a plaza of the Tokyo Auto Salon 2010. The visitors were welcomed at the front by the arched walls towering on both sides. At the right hand, there were displays of the deluxe leather versions of the SPORT-JC and the STYLE-JC, and of the luxury models in brown, red, ivory, and black colors which can realize rich coordination matching well with the interior colors. You may get an expectation that these models will be introduced as the new lineup for this spring. In addition to the above, the Super Stark, the limited model of the RS-G and the SR-6 launched in October 2009 was also displayed as the reference exhibit. Following the release in a limited quantity, it received a rush of orders from the authorized dealers nationwide and quickly became sold out. The only remaining now are stocks in shops. Having passed four months from the release, it may well be called a miracle if you could find one somewhere.
Displayed on the left side were the SR-7F seats of all colors which were just launched in November 2009. This model has been derived from the SR-7 which gained increasing popularity since its release in June 2009 and is equipped with the flat type seat cushion. While retaining backrest holding ability and the sensation of a sports seat, this model has realized increased openness in the thigh area by adopting the seat cushion side support of a lower form, focusing on comfort ability rather than sports driving. Not only because the height of the side support is lowered but also because the urethane pads on the center part and the side support of the seat cushion are suitably differentiated in hardness and density, this model is tuned to ensure the optimal feeling suitable for each role. Just beyond the arched entrance, there were a surprising number of seats, beautifully aligned. The visitors could actually have a sit and try out all. A total of 110 seats were displayed from the all the categories of RECARO's lineup, reference exhibits, child seats, and others. This was the largest-ever scale in terms of the number of displayed seats in the RECARO history with regard to the Tokyo Auto Salon.
Please look at the pictures above. They are the front views of rows of the seats displayed. We heard many visitors to the booth exclaiming in surprise, "Wow, just like airplane seats." There is one big reason why RECARO decided to show such a large number of seats this time. The Tokyo Auto Salon draws so many visitors, and a large number of visitors came to the RECARO booth last year too. However, it was impossible to satisfy all of those who wanted to actually try out RECARO seats with only less than 20 seats, and it was actually observed that many visitors had given up tryout upon finding that the seats they wanted to try had already been occupied by other people. From such an experience, the theme for this year was "Giving as many visitors as possible a chance to sit in RECARO seats." What did actually happen? In an open booth located at the center of the Tokyo Auto Salon venue, there were over 100 seats, all of which provided the world's premium seating comfort. Then, the answer would be quite simple. Many visitors came in, sat down, and fell asleep for a bit. A scene like this continued throughout the exhibition period. You may have actually seen and still remember many sleeping faces and, moreover, those many smiling faces at the RECARO booth in the Tokyo Auto Salon. It was the best exhibition that RECARO had ever produced.
